Gardendale's Main Street Roofline, Twice Tested
The business district along US-31 and Main Street in Gardendale took a direct hit from an F1 tornado on April 8, 2006, which tore roofing and large rooftop A/C units loose and damaged homes east of the highway -- a reminder of how much a Gardendale roof and gutter system has to withstand between storms, not just during them. The town's name only dates to 1906, when it was renamed from the pottery-trade community once called Jugtown.
Leaf Debris and Roof Drainage North of Birmingham
Gardendale's tree cover sheds heavily onto rooflines each fall, and a gutter system without guards or regular clearing backs up fast enough to send water behind the fascia instead of into the downspout. That backup is a bigger long-term risk to a roof edge than most single storms.
Project Paths
Planning a gutter installation Project in Gardendale
Roof area, valleys, tree debris, fascia condition, downspout placement, and the final discharge point matter more to long-term performance than gutter color.
