Center Point's Roofs After the 2012 Tornado
Center Point was still an unincorporated Jefferson County community when the January 23, 2012 EF3 tornado tracked through the Center Point–Clay area with winds near 150 mph, damaging 231 homes and businesses -- a storm that replaced or patched a large share of the neighborhood's roofs and gutter systems in a short window. Center Point had only incorporated as its own city a decade earlier, in 2002.
