Discharge is the part that actually matters
Gutters are rarely regulated; where they discharge engages city stormwater expectations and, locally, geology. Concentrated release into ground over carbonate bedrock is worth avoiding, and on sloping lots a downspout that ends near the wall simply returns the water to the foundation it was meant to protect. Red clay compounds this by holding what does not drain away.

Decide the discharge routing deliberately
Citywide stormwater guidance will not tell you where your runoff currently goes, how much roof area drains to each outlet, or whether the fascia will carry new hangers. Settle routing before the gutters are ordered.
